The Financial Analysis and Accounting division of Health and Human Services is seeking a Senior. Accountant to join their team. The primary role of this position is to maintain the Child Foster Care report and the related complex requirements of Title IV-E reimbursement of expenses for out-of-home placement. Additional reporting and billing functions will be added based on experience.

Location and hours:This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as remote, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position, you will:
Process Social Services Information System (SSIS) proofing reports and distribution on a bi-weekly basis.
Review the accuracy of payment for reporting purposes.
Review of provider reimbursability for Title IV-E funds.
Coordinate with point people in various areas of the department who have a role in data integrity related to the child foster care report and Title IV-E requirements.
Provide fiscal mentor support to staff involved with the out-of-home placement payment process.
Gather and create reports related to out-of-home placement.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or other specialty area related to the position and two years or more of professional experience in a specific functional area of accounting, auditing or financial management.
Six years or more of experience in a specific functional area of accounting, auditing or financial management.

All parts of the billing cycle.
The child foster care report at the county or state level, and/or experience submitting claiming reports through SSIS.
Microsoft Office applications, PeopleSoft Financials, or a similar electronic financial system.
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Handle multiple priorities with minimal direction.
Communicate well both verbally and in writing.
Meet deadlines and produce accurate work in a fast-paced office environment.
