Assistant Office Director | Up to $155,639/annually

This position has the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule (telework and work in the office) or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent is expected to work in the office on Wednesdays and on other occasions.
Our Assistant Office Director oversees Greater Minnesota transit programming and implementation. It works in harmony with the other assistant office director responsible for active transportation planning, transit planning, shared mobility planning, and financing and contracting of services for all modes. This position provides overall managerial direction and leadership to the transit management units of OTAT including:
Directing statewide strategic program delivery of multiple, complex state and federal transit initiatives, such as program and project level development, deployment and ongoing technical assistance, program oversight, and program budgets.
Assessing greater Minnesota transit needs and facilitating criteria-based investment decision making and recommending changes in law, regulations, and policies to higher level managers.
As assistant office director, this position acts as interim OTAT Office Director when the Director is absent. This position is responsible for knowing all aspects of OTAT and carries the same responsibilities and accountability as the Director.
Occasional (approximately 5%) in-state travel is required to meet in-person with stakeholders.

Here are the minimum qualifications:
Three years of managerial experience OR four years of professional supervisory experience in transportation planning, program delivery, or project development.

Technical expertise: Experience in transportation planning and programming methods and practices, including policy, cost allocation, public participation, and performance measurement.
Management: Experience developing and managing budgets; and experience managing and leading teams.
Human relations: Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with staff, stakeholders, policy makers, and interest groups.
Communication: Experience communicating an agency and team vision and messages to your team, stakeholders, policy makers, and interest groups, including giving presentations.
