Description
The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) is seeking a Case Management Assistant to work within the Adult Probation Supervision Services (APSS) Division. This position will handle a high-volume caseload supervising very low contact clients who are on supervision for person, property, drug and misdemeanor/gross misdemeanor DWI offenses. This position is responsible for monitoring and assisting clients in completing court ordered conditions within a short time frame. Location and hours:This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at Probation Center North, 4336 Lyndale Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN 55412 and remote as job duties require. Work hours are generally between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position, you will:
· Supervise a low-contact, high-volume caseload of clients in accordance with supervision standards and prioritize responses based on emergent needs and risk.
· Be responsible for high-frequency case management duties including maintaining documentation of a wide variety of case activity, such as contact with clients, victims, concerned parties and treatment agencies within DOCCR's case management system and other department data systems.
· Frequently prepare court reports and orders, such as probation violations, case amendments and discharge orders.
· Utilize Evidence Based practices to promote behavioral change and public safety including, cognitive behavioral interventions, motivational interviewing, etc.
· Provide resources and refer clients to internal and external programming related to chemical use, abusive behaviors, mental health treatment to address specific client needs and risk.
· Conduct office, virtual, and phone contacts, per contact standards.
· Work successfully across cultures and actively support equity while being respectful of lived experiences and demonstrate on-going expansion of one’s own awareness of culture.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Two years or more of paid social service or criminal justice experience providing direct client service.
o A two-year Human Services Certificate.
o Two years or more of college coursework in the behavioral sciences field.
Nice to have:
· Experience:
o Establishing new partnerships with community partners to assure client access to resources.
o Engaging or collaborating with individuals impacted by the justice system.
o Using Offender Management System (OMS), Court Services Tracking System (CSTS), and other criminal justice databases, as well as Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
o Working with customers or clients from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
· Experience and knowledge of evidence-based practices (EBP) tools.
· Knowledge of community resources and social services available to serve clients
· Ability to:
o Accurately record information in an objective, clear, and concise manner.
o Establish and maintain rapport with staff, community resource providers, and other criminal justice professionals so that teamwork and collaboration are preserved.
o Establish strong relationships with clients, co-workers and the public.
o Effectively communicate orally and in writing.
