KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Grace Church is seeking a Jesus-centered, relational, and strategic leader to serve as our Junior High Ministry Manager. This person will be responsible for leading a vibrant, fun, and discipleship-focused ministry for students in grades 6–8. The ideal candidate is a team player who brings energy, creativity, and ownership to ministry, with a passion for equipping volunteers, engaging families, and helping students grow in their faith. The Chaska NXT JHigh Manager will be responsible for:
Leadership & Oversight
Lead and manage all aspects of Junior High Ministry, including weekly programming, events, camps, and special initiatives.
Create a welcoming, fun, and safe environment where students can grow spiritually and relationally.
Recruit, train, and disciple a team of adult and student volunteers, equipping them for effective ministry.
Develop and manage ministry goals, calendar, and budget in alignment with church vision and discipleship process.
Discipleship & Teaching
Plan and deliver Bible-based teaching that is relevant and engaging for junior high students.
Foster small group environments that encourage authentic relationships and spiritual growth.
Model and encourage relational evangelism among students and leaders.
Support and engage parents in the spiritual formation of their students.
Collaboration & Teamwork
Work closely with the NXT Gen Team and other church staff to ensure alignment and support across ministries.
Participate in regular staff meetings, planning sessions, and church-wide events.
Support and assist teammates as needed—embracing a “we not me” mindset.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, volunteers, and staff.
Ministry Development
Evaluate and improve ministry programs, seeking feedback and input.
Embrace innovation and resist “we’ve always done it this way” thinking.
Keep up with trends and best practices in student ministry.
Ensure all activities align with the overall discipleship strategy and help students take next steps in their faith.
PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., ministry, education, or youth development) is preferred.
Experience: At least 1–2 years of relevant experience, ideally in youth ministry or a related field.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, data entry, and familiar with databases. Must be organized, relational, dependable, and adaptable.
Prioritizes a growing, Christ-centered relationship with Jesus, evidenced by the fruit of the Spirit.
Believes that personal walk with God is the highest priority, and actively takes time for Scripture, prayer, worship, and rest—even during the workweek—as essential to both personal well-being and ministry effectiveness. Lives with integrity and accountability, modeling a life appropriate for public Christian ministry.
Committed to relational evangelism and discipleship, actively participating in the Great Commission (Matt. 28:18–20).
