The Department of Natural Resources is seeking an experienced administrator to work strategically with members of the Commissioner’s Office to facilitate the effective and efficient work flow within the Commissioner’s Office. The selected candidate will serve as a key point of contact between the Commissioner’s Office and internal as well as external clientele. Responsibilities include identifying and anticipating executive needs of the Commissioner, Commissioner’s team and agency leadership to ensure processes, communication, reporting and administrative support are in place; prioritizing and coordinating the Commissioner’s activities to balance scheduling, gather briefing materials, and track correspondence; serving as liaison between the Commissioner’s Office and the Governor’s Office, Legislators, other federal and state agencies, and the public. The incumbent works collaboratively as a member of the Commissioner’s Office team to coordinate operations within the office.
The ideal candidate will have strong professional experience supporting executives, including impressive organizational skills, agility in juggling priorities and managing schedules, maintaining confidentiality, handling sensitive communications. The preferred candidate will have an understanding of and experience working in a government setting.
This is an appointed position commensurate with the term of the DNR Commissioner. The annual salary range is $65,647 to $95,672.
