KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Grace Kids will enthusiastically minister to the next generation of children (Nursery to 5th grade) by implementing our vision (see attached Vision Document) and creating environments where kids can have fun, be safe and know Jesus. Additionally, the director will ensure the success and growth of our Special Needs and Compass ministries by providing oversight, encouragement, support, visibility, and coaching. The primary responsibilities of this role include:
Effectively cast vision, lead and champion Grace Kids, Special Needs and Compass ministries. Success will be measured by the team’s ability to reach and guide the spiritual transformation of the next generation of kids with the Gospel, while growing the ministry and mobilizing effective volunteers (Ref. Vision Document for more details.)
Build up the Grace Kids ministry effectively through servant leadership with conviction, joy, patience and devotion in all areas – Sundays, Wednesdays, Tuesdays, events, and more.
Lead, direct and develop the staff by cultivating a healthy team culture, fostering and preserving unity, and ensuring alignment with Grace Church as a whole.
Lead by example in creating a ministry culture that is prayerful, relational, energetic, fun-loving, productive and growth-oriented.
Energize ministry through presence during live programming
Oversee all curriculum for all grade levels (nursery-5th grade), including content delivery in all programming, volunteer training, events, etc.
Develop and oversee the ongoing successful execution of age-specific, relevant, and life-giving student-led worship teams while creating a pipeline of students to pass on to our NXT Student’s ministry. We look to identify and develop students in the areas of worship leading, singing, musicianship, production, and tech.
Lead and oversee the effort to ensure that Grace Kids, Compass and Special Needs teams sufficiently recruit, screen, and train the needed number of volunteers/leaders to maximize all ministry environments (small groups, big room, fun activities, camps, worship, etc.). The ideal state of Grace Kids is one where we have a line of volunteers waiting to serve.
Network and cultivate learning relationships/partnerships with peers and leaders from other churches/Kids’ ministries locally and nationally. Be informed and current around benchmarking, strategy and ministry models that are effective.
Lead and host a high-quality, “wow-factor” VBS each summer as an outreach, with the goal that 30%+ of the registered kids come from outside of Grace Church.
Lead, develop, grow and champion the Special Needs ministry.
Continue to maximize the Sunday programming.
Grow our “mainstream” opportunities for special needs kids through our “buddy system” within our Sunday and Wednesday Kid’s Ministry programming.
Continue to grow and expand our reach and influence within the metro-wide community of special needs kids/families through our respite nights and other events while developing partnerships with other ministries and organizations.
Support and resource our Compass ministry by fully integrating it into our Grace Kids team and the overall scope of Grace Kids’ ministry.
Support and resource Grace Church Chaska and other sites as needed.
Be available to support our Wings homeschool team with logistics.
Lead and facilitate our Child dedication classes and services.
Develop and effectively manage the annual budget in consultation with your supervisor, including the timely and accurate reporting of expenses and expense management all year.

Other duties as assigned.
