The Facility Services department's Security division is hiring an Enterprise Card Access Specialist to manage the card access and background check program for Hennepin County. This position will work with the latest software to ensure facilities are safe and secure by issuing and managing access badges to all employees and contractors across Hennepin County. This role will also work with partners and agencies to ensure background check procedures are followed and meet compliance standards.Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into an open competitive position may be eligible for a $500 referral bonus. Location and hours:This position is located at the Hennepin County Government Center building in downtown Minneapolis at 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487. Work hours are designated during core business hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday with occasional overtime. Public transportation is available into downtown Minneapolis. This position does not include parking at the Hennepin County Government Center. Based on current requirements hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. In this position, you will:
Work with the county’s software application to manage card access for employees, vendors and partners across the county.
Work with vendor partners to process and approve external background requests.
Provide customer service and access badge assistance to all new employees and partners.
Provide access compliance reporting on request.
Act as a subject matter expert for card access to support special projects.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Two years or more of full-time office clerical experience.
Completion of two years or more of post-high school education.
18 months or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Office Specialist Pathway Training program.
One year or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Human Services Pathway Training program.
Nice to have:
Experience:
Working as a card access or security specialist in a public or private setting.
Working with card access, visitor management, or other physical security software applications.
Working with computers and Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Performing background or candidate compliance reviews.
Running report queries for compliance or other reporting requests.
Ability to:
Provide great customer service and communicating effectively both verbally and in writing.
Process repetitive transactions.
Use independent judgment and excellent prioritization skills.
