Work hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 pm. This internship will start on May 30th, 2023 and will last up to one year in duration with the potential to extend on a case-by-case basis. This intern will work a minimum of 20 hours/week. No overtime will be allowed. · Assist Geographic Information System (GIS) staff with scanning and rectification of historic imagery.
· Perform field and desktop GIS work to support county fiber optic asset management.
· Work with project manager in support of large-scale GIS efforts.
· Create maps, perform spatial analysis, and manage data.
· Create metadata and technical documentation.
· Other related tasks as assigned.
Need to have:
· Current enrollment or recent graduate (within 6 months) from a master's degree program in GIS or a related field.
· A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver’s permit.
· Access to reliable transportation.
Nice to have:
· 2+ years of experience using Esri ArcGIS platform (ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Field Maps, and related apps) to create maps, and to collect and manage data.
