The Operations Business Information Office is seeking to hire a student currently enrolled in or a recent 6-months graduate in an associate, bachelors, or master's degree program to participate in a part-time internship as an IT Analyst.Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into an open competitive position may be eligible for a $500 referral bonus. For more information visit the employee referral program.Location and hours:This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at various Hennepin County facilities and/or remote as job duties require. Work hours are Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. – 5 pm. The intern will work approximately 20 hours/week for a duration of 6 months. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota. New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable after the new employee successfully completes probation. · Provide on-site and/or remote hardware and software technical support via incident management software, Microsoft Teams video and chat, telephone, text, and email.
· Assist with on-site new hardware and software deployments.
· Assist with managing shared hardware inventory.
· Document hardware and software technical support information.
Need to have:
· Current enrollment or recent graduate (within 6 months) in an associate, bachelor's or master's degree program in IT or a related field.
· Reliable internet connection and self-support hybrid office space.
· Access to reliable transportation to travel to sites throughout Hennepin County.
· Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds and must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Nice to have:
· Experience:
o Providing excellent customer service in person and/or over the phone.
o Managing inventory.
o Working with or supporting computing devices.
· User level knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
· Interest in the technology field.
· Ability to:
o Troubleshoot and solve complex problems.
o Learn and apply software and hardware troubleshooting techniques.
o Work effectively with vendors, departments, and county staff in a professional manner, and be courteous and respectful to others.
