Job Details
IT Directors are professionals in charge of all things technical, which means they need to know how cloud-environments, networks and end-user devices work and how to manage projects effectively. They ensure that projects get done correctly and creatively solve problems when something goes wrong, or new challenges arise.
Responsibilities include:
Overseeing all technology operations and evaluating them according to established goals
Devising and establishing IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
Analyzing the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
Assisting with day-to-day support and trouble-shooting – some level 1 and some level 2 issues will be addressed.
Monitoring the environment to ensure stability and reliability
Coordinating with Hope’s Managed Services Provider to ensure they are fully utilized and are providing the value contracted for.
We are looking for an experienced IT Director to oversee all IT (Information Technology) functions at Hope Academy. You will be in charge of managing and supporting the company’s technology operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies. This includes an internal Level One Help Desk technician and managing the relationship with our Managed Services Provider. An excellent IT director is very knowledgeable in IT and computer systems. They have a solid technical background while able to manage and motivate people. The ideal candidate will be experienced in creating and implementing IT policies and systems that will meet objectives as well as being an outstanding problem solver and customer support technician. The goal is to ensure IT systems are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time and specifications of the company.
Detailed Responsibilities
Oversee all technology operations (e.g. network security, cloud based systems) and evaluate them according to established goals
Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of strategies set by upper management
Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
Purchase efficient and cost effective technological equipment and software
Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management
Coordinate various IT resources including internal employees, vendors and our Managed Services Provider
Control budget and report on expenditure
Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
Provide day-to-day support to Hope Academy users
Monitor systems, interfaces and key IT data
Ensure device inventories are accurate and complete
Ensure user credentials, groups, TEAMS, etc. are properly set up and inventoried
Requirements & Skills
Proven experience as IT director or similar role
Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks etc.
Experience in controlling information technology budget
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication abilities
Experience in assisting users in problem solving and helping users understand how to utilize the IT capabilities Hope has in place
BSc/BA in computer science, engineering or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
