Description
Hennepin County's IT department is seeking an IT Software Asset Analyst III to join the team. This position will be tasked with developing, implementing, and evolving an enterprise-wide governance program around Software Asset Management (SAM) and work towards devising an end-to-end solution for SAM, with the goal of increasing maturity in the SAM space. This position will also focus on providing transparency of defined software assets utilized across the organization, creating a consolidated view of all software entitlements, minimizing compliance audit risk, managing to completion compliance and savings projects, monetizing outcomes, and partnering in developing short and long-term roadmaps on software publishers and titles.New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment. Location and hours: This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota. · Ensure team's goals, resources, and direction aligns with strategic objectives and county goals.
· Work on or with the assistance of management in removing or mitigating any barriers that block progress.
· Hire and train staff to set work schedules and establish department policy and procedures within the team and the IT department itself.
· Arrange ongoing staff training and professional development, create work assignments, assemble projects and support teams, oversee operations, and perform employee evaluations.
· Support IT management in creating and managing the budget.
· Oversee the management of team key computer systems, including databases and software programs; implement Process Improvement Plans (PIP) and foster innovation.
· Ensure staff have appropriate assignment of any responsibility, authority, and tools to carry out specific activities.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Eight years or more of information technology experience.
o Associate's/vocational/technical degree in computer science, management information systems (MIS), information technology, or an approved information technology field related to the position and six years or more of information technology experience.
o Completion of five college/vocational technical technology courses and six years or more of information technology experience.
o Completion of approved IT Hennepin County internship and six years or more of information technology experience.
o Bachelor's degree or higher in an information technology field and four years or more of information technology experience.
Nice to have:
· ITIL v3 Foundations, Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM), Certified Information Technology Asset Manager (CITAM), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), or similar Software Asset Management certifications.
· Experience working with:
o Software management tools that assist in Discovery and Inventory, normalization, optimization, tracking, and reconciliation of software.
o IBM Sub-Capacity Management, Microsoft License models, IBM License models, and Adobe License models.
o Terms and conditions within IT software contracts or agreements and articulate the likely cost and licensing implications.
· Strong skills in presentation, writing, and verbal communications appropriate for IT and technology leadership.
· Strong and proven analytical, data processing, and problem-solving skills.
