Description
NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center is seeking a Medical Technologist Supervisor to perform work in a professional supervisory position, planning, implementing, evaluating, and directing activities of a moderate complexity laboratory. This position will supervise the laboratory’s performance, correlation, and interpretation of clinical laboratory tests.

Location and hours:
This position is located at the NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center at 2220 Plymouth Avenue North, Minneapolis, MN 55411. Work hours will be set by supervisor – generally during the clinic business day: Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. with occasional Saturdays or evenings, as needed.

This position is subject to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Interim Final Rule on COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination. As such, it requires the job offer to be conditional based on the candidate being fully vaccinated for COVID-19. “Fully vaccinated” means 14 days after receiving the second dose in a two-dose vaccination series approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on a full or emergency-use basis, or 14 days after receiving a single-dose vaccine approved by the FDA on a full or emergency-use basis. In this position you will:
Provide supervisory and departmental leadership in support of NorthPoint's mission and objectives.
Identify training needs and establish in-service education for laboratory and other medical personnel, as appropriate.
Plan, implement, and assure compliance with regulatory agencies.
Oversee quality control and proficiency testing activities.
Coordinate procurement of supplies, equipment, and instrumentation.
Review, write, revise, and implement policies and procedures; evaluate contract services.
Prepare budgets and work schedules of departmental personnel.
Conduct long range planning; set goals in collaboration with all staff.
Perform clinical diagnostic laboratory tests.
Research, evaluate, and select instrumentation and methodologies; comply with safety regulations and work rules.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Bachelor's degree or higher in medical technology or related clinical laboratory science and three or more years of professional clinical laboratory work experience.
Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP) and/or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (NCA) by written examination or approved equivalent.
Nice to have:

Working with Epic and/or Cerner systems.
Team and staff development.
Knowledge in the technical principles necessary to coordinate the activities of the laboratory and the theory, technique, and practices of medical technology.
Ability to:
Coordinate operational and financial management of the lab.

Communicate effectively and professionally with others.
