Description
Hennepin County’s Human Resources (HR) department is seeking a Senior and Principal Organization Development Consultant to provide expertise in organization development and change management initiatives across county departments. Candidates will be hired into the Senior or Principal level depending on related experience of the candidate.

Salary based upon qualifications: Organization Development Consultant, Senior: $60,183.19 - $100,324.83 Annually Organization Development Consultant, Principal: $74,995.39 - $118,937.85 Annually Location and hours:
These positions are remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Hours will be flexible, working 8 hours per day during core business hours, Monday - Friday 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
While these positions are designated as remote, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment. At this time, once an employee reaches the maximum of the salary range, candidates hired as a Human Resources Representative, Senior may be eligible to receive an additional cash merit of up to $5,016.24 that can be earned annually based on performance. In the position as a Senior Organization Development Consultant, you will:
· Provide organization development consulting services to assist leaders with team effectiveness, leadership development, assessment, coaching, talent management, employee engagement, workplace culture, and organizational change.
· Collaborate with HR partners to develop and implement integrated solutions for customers.
· Participate in or lead cross-functional project teams to address workforce issues and continuously improve HR services.
· Identify strategies, methods, tools, and measures to promote organizational effectiveness, communication, and development.
· Build relationships across the department and organization to promote and enhance organization development services.
In the position as a Principal Organization Development Consultant, you will:
· Provide strategic organization development consultation to executive-level leaders.
· Provide organization development consulting services to assist leaders with team effectiveness, leadership development, assessment, coaching, talent management, employee engagement, workplace culture, and organizational change.
· Design, lead and facilitate development and engagement opportunities, based on needs assessments and in alignment with customer strategic priorities.
· Proactively partner with managers to utilize best practices and implement strategies to improve and maintain a positive and inclusive work environment.
· Research, identify and provide best practices relevant to current talent and organization development processes.
Need to have:
· For hire as an Organization Development Consultant, Senior, one of the following:
o Seven or more years of professional human resources and/or organization development experience.
o Certificate in human resources from an approved college or university and five or more years of professional human resources and/or organization development experience.
o Two years of college including 12 semester credits in the below fields and five or more years of professional human resources and/or organization development experience.
o Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, industrial relations, human resources administration, organization development, public administration, psychology or a field closely related to the position and three or more years of professional human resources and/or organization development experience.
· For hire as an Organization Development Consultant, Principal, one of the following:
o Eight or more years of professional human resources and/or organization development experience.
o Certificate in human resources from an approved college or university and six or more years of professional human resources and/or organization development experience.
o Two years of college including 12 semester credits in the below fields and six or more years of professional human resources and/or organization development experience.
o Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, industrial relations, human resources administration, organization development, public administration, psychology or a field closely related to the position and four or more years of professional human resources and/or organization development experience.
Nice to have for both positions:
· Experience:
o Consulting with leaders to identify and implement strategies to strengthen workplace culture, team effectiveness, leadership development, and employee engagement.
o Applying change management approaches in business situations.
· Certificates/certifications in processes, tools and/or methodologies related to team effectiveness, leadership development, change management, facilitation, organizational culture.
· Knowledge of OD principles and practices, organizational behavior and team/group dynamics, change management and consulting models, drivers of employee engagement, assessment tools, leadership development, and talent management tools and processes.
· Ability to consult with leaders, assess customer needs, facilitate groups, manage multiple projects and assignments, build relationships, and work collaboratively across the department and organization.
· Commitment to utilizing equity informed approaches and practices in the workplace.
