POSITION SUMMARY
This faculty member will work with the Science department to help guide students in the learning of Physics and Physical Science in accordance with the academic programs of SWCHS and its curriculum. He or she will be responsible to prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature disciples of Jesus Christ who will seek, know, live, and proclaim the truth.

Required:
Spiritual Qualities
Christian faith; demonstrated character of integrity; solid knowledge of God’s Word; vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Actively participate in a local Bible-believing church.Â
Acknowledge Christ as Savior and seek to live his/her life as His disciple; evidence of the fruit of the Spirit in dealing with people.
Believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God, our standard for faith and practice; actively support the school’s Statement of Faith.
Demonstrate a desire for spiritual growth as evidenced by his/her prayer life, Bible study, and spiritual outreach.
Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others. This includes being committed to God’s biblical standards for sexual conduct (Luke 6:40).Â
Professional Qualities:
Preparation and Instruction
Plan a program of study that meets the learning objectives for each course with attention given to meaningful learning and student abilities.
Integrates biblical principles and Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum.
Employ a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child; spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional.
Maintain accurate grading, attendance, and student progress records and communicate these in a timely manner to our students and their families.
Maintain a clean, inviting, well-ordered classroom.
Recognize the value of positive public relations and represent the school in a favorable and professional manner to our constituency.Â
Personal Qualities
Demonstrate a sensitivity and ability to interact effectively with staff, parents, volunteers, and students.Â
Understand the importance of discernment, discretion, and confidentiality in the operation of the classroom and school.
Recognize his or her own mistakes and take measures to correct them.Â
Make an effort to appreciate and understand the uniqueness of the community.Â
Supplemental Functions
Supervise extra-curricular activities, organizations, and outings as assigned.
Lead a discipleship group (D-group).
Utilize educational opportunities and evaluation processes for professional growth.
Provide input and constructive recommendations for administrative and managerial functions in the school.
Perform other tasks or assignments that may be periodically requested by the School Administration.
Educational Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited postsecondary institution.
Master’s degree preferred
A current state teaching license in the subject area being taught is preferred.
Technical
Proficient in required technology including but not limited to classroom management software (Blackbaud, Google Suite, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and internet)
