The Behavioral Health Clinic at NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center is hiring a Senior Psychiatric Social Worker to join their team. This position will provide clinical mental health services within a middle school setting. This individual will conduct initial clinical interviews with children and families to determine level of functioning and to diagnose mental and/or emotional disorders. While providing psychotherapy they will also prepare diagnostic assessment reports, including presenting problems, psychosocial and medication histories, psychiatric diagnoses, and treatment plans.

Location and hours:
When school is in session, this position is in person and will be performed at Olson Middle School, 1601 51st Ave N Minneapolis, MN 55430, Work hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
When school is not in session, this position may be hybrid and performed at NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center’s main clinic at 2022 Plymouth Ave N. Minneapolis, MN and remote as duties require.
This position is subject to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Interim Final Rule on COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination. In this position, you will:
In a school-based setting, conduct initial clinical interviews with children and families to determine level of functioning and to diagnose mental and emotional disorders. Provide crisis intervention as needed.
In a school-based setting, provide direct clinical services including diagnostic assessments and individual, group, and family therapy.
Provide consultation and training to school staff. Take part in client-related meetings with school staff or other providers/professionals as needed.
Provide general case management; prepare reports, case records, and correspondence as necessary clinically, and to bill for services.
Participate in weekly multidisciplinary staff case consultations with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other mental health providers.
Complete timely documentation of mental health services provided as necessary to meet MN DHA Uniform Service Standard requirements and to bill for services.
Confer and consult with personnel in community social service, mental health, educational, and other human services systems.
Work as a member of a multidisciplinary, integrated care team consisting of medical, dental, behavioral health, and other ancillary care providers. Provide both internal and external referrals for patients.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Need to have:
Master's degree or higher in social work or closely related field and two or more years of post-master's degree experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
Qualification as a Mental Health Professional.
Current licensure as an Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) by the Minnesota Board of Social Work, Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health, and/or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) by the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy.

Experience
Direct experience with middle school aged adolescents.
Knowledge of clinical interview techniques to be used with children and adolescents.
Previous experience in an elementary or middle school setting.
Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
Knowledge of resources available through Hennepin County and the community.
Skill in working with patients of varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds including patients who may require the use of an interpreter.
Strong computer skills including knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience using the Epic electronic health records system.
Ability to:
Gather and interpret pertinent psychosocial and psychological data in cases characterized by complex problems and the ability to use this data to inform diagnostic considerations and develop effective therapeutic interventions.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other professionals, and the public.
