The Long Term Services and Supports (LTSS) area of Health and Human Services is seeking three Principal Support Services Supervisors to join a team of supervisors who manage and supervise office support staff. The staff provide a variety of secretarial/office services for the Long Term Services and Supports and Adult Protection (LTSSAP) area, and the Initial Contact and Assessment (ICA) area. These supervisor positions require considerable knowledge, experience, judgement, and the ability to solve problems related to clerical responsibilities of a work unit, including knowledge of pre- and post-work for assessments for Long Term Care (LTC) waivers, Development Disabilities (DD), and Personal Care Assistance (PCA).
Location and hours:
These positions are hybrid and will be performed bothon-site at Hennepin County Human Service Center locationsand remote as job duties require. Work hours will typically be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility. While these positions are designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.
In these positions, you will:
Plan and assign work to the unit/team.
Establish, develop, and implement work unit policies and procedures.
Interview, select, and train staff and review the work of unit/team, provide coaching, and evaluate employee performance.
Provide information on procedures, policies, and objectives to the unit/team, coworkers, clients, and the public.
Resolve complex problems related to clerical support functions.
Approve expenditures consistent with authority of supervisory role.
Plan, develop, and coordinate area/department initiatives.
Administer and enforce the employer/employee labor contract(s) and Human Resources Rules.
Participate in and lead committees, team groups, and meeting.
Serve as liaison to other units, departments, or community agencies, as appropriate.
Serve in an administrative support capacity to management.
Need to have:
Three years or more of office clerical or administrative support experience and one year or more of supervisory or lead worker experience.
Nice to have:
One year or more of experience working with LTSS or ICA.
Experience leading projects.
Experience supervising staff involved in office clerical and/or administrative support functions.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and the ability to utilize Microsoft Word and other computer programs efficiently in a work setting.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to:
Perform managerial or supervisory functions and administrative support tasks specific to LTSS or ICA.
Manage clerical work within LTC, DD, PCA, and ICA areas.
Handle competing tasks/projects and meet timelines.
Interpret and apply policies, rules, and procedures.
Establish effective working relationships with staff and elicit cooperation from others in a positive, constructive manner.
Build and nurture collaborative relationships with a variety of customers/partners, both internal and external.
Work with protected information and maintain confidentiality.
