Hope Academy is seeking a Charitable Gifts Processor to join our Advancement Team – a self-starter with keen attention to detail and ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality. Working alongside the Advancement Team, this person will be responsible for processing all donations made to Hope Academy. Our Mission: The mission of Hope Academy is to foster hope in God within the inner-city neighborhoods of Minneapolis by providing youth with a remarkable, Christ-centered education. Hope Academy serves over 590 students with the objective of reaching 700 students by the year 2026. While the operating support for nearly all private schools is tuition-focused, at Hope Academy nearly 90% of our operating costs are provided by generous financial supporters. Our low-income families contribute as they are able (tuition covers about 10% of our operating costs) and generous financial Partners (who sponsor one or more students) and others provide the rest. Major Responsibilities Receive, process, and receipt all donations, including online, checks, cash, in-kind, and stock gifts. Monitor Hope Academy’s brokerage account and process gifts of stock. Perform monthly reconciliations with processing gateway and QuickBooks. Assist Hope Academy finance team in yearly audit, as needed. Generate donor reports and giving reports, as requested. Assist with logistics support for major events on the Development calendar, as needed. Job qualifications Highlymissional. Agrees with Hope Academy’s Statement of Faith & Faith and Life Covenant. The Accountant will have primary responsibility for certain financial functions, and will also be a general financial resource for the school. They ensure that projects get done correctly and creatively solve problems when something goes wrong, or new challenges arise.
