Position: Acounting Specialist
Type: Full Time
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Support the financial management with task to include accounts payable, processing credit cards request, posting payroll to the general ledger, being a backup to process payroll, and maintaining information for the GRH program. This position will also provide back-up support to the finance director when needed. Position requires sharp attention to detail, being able to do multiply allocations and being able to accurately process information
Accounts Payable
Ensure that payment requests have proper supporting documentation and receipts
Work with employees on payment requests and credit card reimbursements so they are completed correctly per agency policy
Review assigned account numbers for accuracy and assign account numbers as needed
Being able to do multiple levels of allocations to programs
Process payments for monthly bills, credit card reimbursements and expense reimbursement requests as needed
Communicate with vendors regarding invoices
Group Residential Housing (GRH)
Update GRH spreadsheet and reconcile to the general ledger
Monitor payouts of funds for GRH
Monitor resident turnover
Review appropriate receipts for personal needs request
Communicate with program and case managers with GRH information
Payroll Processing
Review time and attendance reports and other payroll adjustments for accuracy
Transfer 401 (K) and other payroll deductions to venders
Process payroll as need as a backup
Create payroll breakdown for the general ledger and enter it into the general ledger
Analyze and reconcile benefit accounts
Maintains confidentiality and integrity of payroll process
Other
Distribute monthly financial reports and excel spreadsheets
Periodically review policy and procedure manual to ensure policy and procedures and internal controls are being followed
Provide support for finance director as needed

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in accounting or an associate’s degree with 2-3 years related experience
Experience with QuickBooks
Experience with working with a payroll service
Understand GAAP accounting
Experience in Excel and Word
Full Time, M-F 8am-5pm
