About this position:
Baker Publishing Group is seeking an Acquisitions Assistant to provide administrative support for its Bloomington-based Acquisitions Editors.
Duties will include scheduling meetings; preparing materials for review and pub board meetings; populating and updating multiple databases for editorial, production, sales and marketing use; managing the book endorsement process; corresponding with authors and other content contributors; sending out complimentary copies of books; registering copyrights; and other tasks as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent knowledge or experience
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with extensive knowledge of Excel
Working knowledge of a database program
Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines
Careful attention to detail
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Superior verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work both as a team member and independently
Confident and professional attitude
Previous coursework in business law a plus
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly wage commensurate with qualifications and experience. As a full-time position, benefits provided include health, dental, group life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, paid time off, 401(k), and others.
