PROJECT ENGINEER II
DriSteem designs and manufactures humidification, water treatment and evaporative cooling systems to meet the unique requirements of health care, industrial, process-critical, commercial and residential applications worldwide. DriSteem currently has an opening for an energetic, dynamic Project Engineer II in our New Product Development department. We are looking for someone who can see opportunities and wants to make a difference as part of a growing team.
The Project Engineer II will perform project management and engineering activities in the design and development of DriSteem products and components. Ensure conformance to project specifications, customer needs, and performance of new products, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Manage technical projects and cross functional teams on product development projects or a technical activity. Review customer specifications, requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost and performance as key design variables.
Lead and/or support mid-size projects of medium complexity and scope from written specifications to production in accordance with the DriSteem project management process. Includes:
Management of cross-functional design teams
Completion of projects within budget and on time
Lead design teams in preparation of all required documentation including:
Project work statements/charters
Project plans and schedules
Authorizations to Develop
New Product Authorization documents
Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems
Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
Presentations to management and other project stakeholders
Coordination to complete required stage gate reviews.
Provide expert application knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as HVAC equipment, machines, controls, instruments, etc.
Provide guidance to organization through the application of extensive/broad knowledge in the field of specialization.
Provide multiple product/component consultation as required to ensure product safety, quality, performance or other business needs.
Provide expert product/field knowledge on an as-needed basis to manufacturing, product management, sales, or other departments to resolve inquiries and problems to ensure immediate customer needs are met.
Aide and support other engineers and DriSteem personnel in the development of projects and products.
Serve as an expert within a technical area and educates others on technical issues.
Improve and update technical and product knowledge as required to perform effectively.
Comply with any/all company safety and health rules and policies and promotes safe work practices. Report any safety concerns to a supervisor/manager.
Participate closely in lab work as necessary (auditing, testing, design verification, competitive evaluation, etc.). Use typical laboratory tools and processes to safely build, test, modify and evaluate equipment.
To be considered for this position, candidates will meet the following qualifications:
Engineering Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate engineering discipline with at least 3 years of experience.
Ability to handle multiple and varied projects.
Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
Strong organizational and creative problem solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of company personnel and others at all levels.
