Lift Operator

Seasonal hourly position with opportunity for up to 40 hours a week.

SUMMARY

The Lift Operations Team Members are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of chair lifts, rope tows, conveyor lifts and the customers that use them. They spend their days helping customers, of all skill levels, load and unload from lifts, in all kinds of weather. As a result, enjoyment of the outdoors is a must! The job of a lift operator is critical to the success of any ski operation because much of the customer's time is spent with them.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be attentive at load and unload terminals

  • Engage guests at every opportunity

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor

  • Work outside in winter conditions

  • Maintain a safe work area

  • Maintain an aesthetically pleasing work area

  • Perform expected amount of snow work. (Sweeps chairs, remove snow from terminals)

  • Actively and efficiently organize lift lines and check guest's lift tickets

  • Display respect for all employees at all times

  • Demonstrate a teamwork ethic

  • Take initiative to be self-directed

  • Complete all paperwork efficiently and legibly

Perform other duties as assigned

 

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

 

Must like to have fun and work in a team environment- Required

Must be at least 18 years old at beginning of employment - Required

High school diploma or equivalent - Required

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English - Required

Must be safety oriented - Required

Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., possibly multiple times a day - Required

Must be able to work outdoors in all winter weather conditions- Required

Must be able to come to work on time, when scheduled - Required

Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and/or evenings as necessary. We are a 7-day a week operation. - Required

Must be able to work throughout the entire season - Required

Strong guest service skills - Preferred

 

Job Type: Part-time

Job Pay Rate $12.00 per hour

 

 

Ticket Office Staff

 

Seasonal hourly position with opportunity for up to 40 hours a week.

 

Buck Hill is looking for seasonal Ticket Office Staff!

SUMMARY

The Ticket Office Team Member is often responsible for being the first point of contact and impression for our guests coming to Buck Hill. The position requires strong customer service and communication skills as well as the ability to quickly problem in an effort to ensure every guest has a rewarding and hassle-free experience. Candidates must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where the guest's needs are a priority. Ensuring open lines of communication in and out of the ticket office to the entire resort are critical.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

 

Buck Hill, and the Ticket Office specifically, can be a busy resort. The ability to handle phone calls and guests at the same time, in addition to ensuring the needs of the other ticket office staff are also being met is required. During peak times, (holidays and weekends), the ticket office will be noisy and busy and requires excellent stress management skills and leadership skills. Multi-tasking capabilities are a must. Because this is a seasonal industry and often dictated by Mother Nature, flexibility and acceptance of busy and slow and ability to stay busy with a positive attitude is a must.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Opening and/or Closing Ticket Office and duties involved in that process.

  • Greet and assist guests upon arrival at Buck Hill in the Ticket Office.

  • Ensure all customer concerns are addressed and handled in a professional manner.

  • Process and sell season passes and daily passes in person and via phone.

  • Process and sell gift cards in person and via phone. Print labels and mail in professional, timely, uniform manner.

  • Answer phones and forward/direct callers accordingly if answers cannot be provided by ticket office.

  • Maintain lost and found records and provide follow up when available.

  • Comprehensive understanding of website and website sale process from the guest perspective.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of offerings at Buck Hill, hours of operation, prices and specials.

  • Troubleshoot computer concerns as they arise.

  • Maintain a neat and orderly ticket office.

  • Inventory control and update TOD as to needs.

  • Familiarity with daily/weekly calendar for assisting guests and employees.

  • Upsell from daily ticket to season pass or merchandise when an option.

  • Events Management support including the ability to assist with group sales and ensuring successful events when needed.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 16 or older

  • Familiarity or work experience in ski industry a plus.

  • Experience in a Guest Service and or Retail environment a plus.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Strong stress and time management skills.

  • Reliable.

  • Ability to work with diverse range of personalities and nationalities in professional manner.

  • Cash handling skills.

  • Personable and guest oriented. Willing to go above and beyond to exceed guest expectations.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends and some holidays

Hrly starts at $9.50, benefits may include a free season pass depending on availability and hours worked.

 

 

Ticket Office Supervisor

 

Seasonal hourly position with opportunity for up to 40 hours a week, and an opportunity to become an annual employee.

 

Buck Hill is looking for a seasonal Ticket Office Supervisor who will run and oversee all items pertaining to the Ticket Office.   • Process and sell gift cards in person and via phone. Print labels and mail in professional, timely, uniform manner.

  • Answer phones and forward/direct callers accordingly if answers cannot be provided by ticket office.

  • Maintain lost and found records and provide follow up when available.

  • Update training materials as needed.

  • Comprehensive understanding of website and website sale process from the guest perspective.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of offerings at Buck Hill, hours of operation, prices and specials.

  • Troubleshoot computer concerns as they arise.

  • Maintain a neat and orderly ticket office.

  • Inventory control and update TOD as to needs.

  • Familiarity with daily/weekly calendar for assisting guests and employees.

  • Responsible for cash bag distribution and collection.

  • Upsell from daily ticket to season pass or merchandise when an option.

  • Will assist and support the Director in hiring and when necessary, firing, and the scheduling of ticket office employees.

  • Responsible for a part-time staff of up to 10-12 depending on the need.

  • Responsible for end of day reporting and communication for incoming ticket office staff.

  • Events Management including the ability to assist with group sales and ensuring successful events when needed.

  • Coordinate, track and follow through with donation and fundraising requests.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of high school and College/vocational or technical training.

  • Familiarity or work experience in ski industry a plus.

  • Experience in a Guest Service and or Retail environment.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Supervisor experience.

  • Knowledge of Sirusware an asset, but overall computer proficiency skills a must.

  • Strong stress and time management skills.

  • Reliable.

  • Ability to work with diverse range of personalities and nationalities in professional manner.

  • Cash handling skills.

  • Personable and guest oriented. Willing to go above and beyond to exceed guest expectations.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends and some holidays

Salary starts at $13.00 an hour and benefit available upon interview process
