Graphic Layout Designer: United Hardware Distributing in Plymouth, MN is seeking a full-time Graphic Layout Designer for our Creative Support Services Department.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Electronic layout and prepress work for monthly circulars/online Dealer’s Choice system
Produce quality eye catching advertising pieces as directed
Proof circulars to validate accuracy in regards to prices, item numbers, and artwork
Create and design power point, keynote style presentations when requested
Color correct, outline, resize, correctly name and save images when requested
Upload finals to production house ftp sites in correct format (i.e. Hi Res PDF or Packaged InDesign)
Work closely with Supervisor to develop new program literature, signage, banners and any other elements deemed for project at hand
Work closely with retailers and district managers to create customized store Décor packages
Provide back-up assistance when supervisor is out to answer questions and assist with jobs
Transfer layout information to online AdStudio
Upload information to United Hardware’s web site and update forms available for retailers
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Trade School or Degree in Graphic Design
Creative Suite – i.e. InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat using PC or Mac based hardware
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines

Replenishment Analyst: United Hardware Distributing in Plymouth, MN is seeking a full-time Replenishment Analyst for our Replenishment Department.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Replenish warehouse stock to maximize company profitability and minimize total inventory investment
Working knowledge of: economic order quantity (EOQ), demand forecasting, lead time, safety stock, target stock, reorder point, order policy, service level, replenishment, special order analysis and order validity analysis
Create replenishment purchase orders on a daily basis utilizing and leveraging the forecasting and replenishment software system. Expedite purchase orders
Maintain data integrity by performing purchase order, vendor, item and other general maintenance in a timely manner
Work closely with Merchandising to maximize profits via vendor and item special deals or investment buys, disposing of distressed merchandise and problem solving
Generate and analyze various vendor and item reports
Respond to customer inquiries regarding merchandise availability
Work with vendors and/or Merchandising to obtain Return Goods Authorizations (RGA’s) for overstocks, defectives, miss-shipments and expired date-sensitive merchandise
Work closely with Accounts Payable and Operations departments to manage receiving discrepancies in a timely manner
Participate in group planning activities for the betterment of the company
Backup for import ordering process
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Four-year degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
3- 5 years of Forecasting/Demand Planning experience required.
Ability to use office equipment, such as personal computer, calculator, copier, scanner and fax machine.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Strong troubleshooting or problem solving aptitude
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

Duties & Responsibilities:
Under direction and general guidelines set by the Director of Merchandising:
Interview vendors; negotiate pricing; research competition; perform line reviews; research new items; update pricing; buy to best economic order quantities
Attend national shows to meet with new vendors and gain new ideas
Develop promotional plans with vendors
Create and proof promotional circular layouts
Develop vendor strategy, department layout, and order forms for semi-annual markets.
Answer calls regarding dealer concerns on products, company services and suggestions. Provide technical information and application concerning products. Resolve dealer concerns or requests
Interact with other departments: Accounting, Advertising, Sales, Marketing, Replenishment and the Warehouse
Interact with other merchandising department personnel as needed
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or similar field, or equivalent education or experience.
Five years' experience as a buyer in related industry or direct home improvement retail experience.
Strong analytical, negotiating and interpersonal skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize work, and to meet deadlines.

Maintenance Technician: United Hardware Distributing in Plymouth, MN is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician.
United Hardware Distributing Co. is a full-line wholesale hardware distributor providing products, retail programs and support services to independent retailers. Headquartered in Plymouth, MN, United Hardware services dealers from its 400,000 square foot distribution center in Milbank, SD and delivers to locations in 18 states.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Abides by, maintains, and updates procedure manual which outlines daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual job responsibilities
Responsible for troubleshooting and repair of high voltage alternating current electrical and plumbing throughout the building; Test and maintain Emergency Lights and Exit signs
Responsible for maintaining chemicals and general maintenance for cooling tower
Maintain back-up generator. Verify weekly exercise schedule. Monitor fuel levels – order when needed
Deactivate building security (on-call list, in case of security breach)
Change light bulbs and ballasts as needed
Ongoing maintenance and repair of company truck, pool cars, electric pallet jack, dock lift, and various other equipment
Drive company truck and/or cars; load and unload as necessary. Must maintain DOT certification
Track mileage and do truck inspections when Company truck is used. Write Bill of Lading for load
Responsible for grounds maintenance, including but not limited to watering shrubs and plants, landscaping, picking up trash or tree branches, pest control as needed, exterior lighting, sprinkler system, shoveling walks (sand and salt areas), and upkeep of general appearance of grounds
Performs occasional custodian duties such as sweeping of receiving area, spray washing outside patio, and deep cleaning as needed
Responsible for moving of furniture and office equipment
Set up (and take down) equipment, furniture, picnic tables, beverages and food for in-house meetings and seminars
Responsible for performing and/or overseeing periodic equipment and facility preventative maintenance
Serve as a member of the Safety Committee. Keep building up in accordance with safety regulations. Prepare for safety inspection
Have forklift experience and arrange for maintenance of this equipment. Forklift certification is required. Remain certified at all times
Responsible for receiving deliveries
Responsible for general and hazardous waste recycling
Pick up mail and employee orders from will call warehouse, sort and stage in receiving area for employee pick up
Serve as occasional backup to will call
Be able to work independently and handle situations as they arise
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
High School education or equivalent
Basic math aptitude
Must have basic mechanical abilities
Basic computer skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry
Ability to operate outdoor lawn equipment
