Senior Mechanical Engineer @ Evolve Additive Solutions

Join the Evolution! Evolve Additives, a pioneer in 3D additive manufacturing, is searching for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join it's forces to revolutionize the manufacturing industry.

  • Develop mechanical system design solutions based on engineering principles.

  • Provide critical review and guidance to teammate’s analysis and design.

  • Provide technical support to external and internal customers.

  • Resolve operational problems related to design implementation.

  • Ensure relevant safety and legal requirements are observed for work completed.

  • Support sales team in pre-sales technical concept and budgeting activities.

  • Interpret system requirements, identify and address design parameters and engineering problems, and ensure solutions are implemented accurately.


  • Design and optimize mechanical components, assemblies and enclosures.

  • Analyze project requirements and perform calculations including FEA and CFD.

  • Carry out design work including 3D modelling and manufacturing documentation.

  • Oversee technicians in construction and review of test verification systems.

  • Interface with outside vendors for component selection and manufacturing.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and schematics.

  • Confer with cross-functional engineers to plan and implement requirements.

  • Support the manufacture, build and validation of systems.

  • Support the development of customer documentation.

  • Create and supervise final designs to meet requirements.

  • Lead creation of accurate Bill of Materials.

  • Conduct cost and time estimation.

Job requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar related degree).

  • 5-12 years related job experience.

  • Proficient in SolidWorks software, MS Office.

  • Ability to work in product development environment.

  • Knowledge of mechanical design and its application:

  • including specification of motors, gears, mechanical systems, pneumatics, robotic, heating/cooling and motion systems.

  • Ability to work in product development environment.

  • Critical thinking with problem solving skills.

  • Able to work independently or in team environment.

  • Efficiently organize, plan work tasks and direct designers to meet goals.

  • Ability to balance multiple projects with proven track record.

  • Travel as required to support projects.
