The SouthWest Metro Chamber of Commerce is seeking a person to fill the position of Membership & Communications Manager. This person is responsible for the recruitment, retention and communication with Chamber business members. See full job description listing below.
$34,000 - $36,000
A monthly stipend to be used toward insurance (no employee group plan is offered at this time).
Commission on new member sales.
Cell phone and mileage allowance.
Matching Retirement plan up to 3% (available after first year of employment)
9 ½ Paid Holidays
15 days PTO (Paid Time Off)- includes vacation and sick days
40 hours per week with a typical schedule of 9:00am-5:00pm Monday thru Friday, however there will be occasional early morning meetings and some weekend special events.

Title: Membership & Communications Manager
Reports To: President/CEO
Position Overview: The position is responsible for the growth and retention of business members, a wide variety of communications to the members and public, along with other administrative functions.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate possesses an undergraduate degree in business, communications, marketing or a related field of study. Experience in sales is also desirable.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Membership Growth & Retention:
Meet with prospective business owners to outline the benefits of membership and secure new members. New member goals to be set annually
Manage the membership accounts receivable list
Execute the Chamber’s member retention plan
Meet with new members to set up their ChamberMaster profile and encourage participation in events, programs and meetings
Maximize the ChamberMaster software tools by maintaining member prospect lists, up-to-date representative lists and various reports
Internal & External Communications:
Design and edit the following Chamber Communications
- Social media outlets
- Monthly member newsletter content and advertising
- Weekly member email contact and advertising
- Chamber website updates
Act as a clearinghouse for the dissemination of information coming into the Chamber office
First point of contact with callers and visitors to the Chamber office
Support fellow staff with all events and programs
Follow guidelines and tasks as outlined in the Chamber’s Internal Control Manual
As a member of the staff team share responsibilities for office supplies and cleanliness
Attend member meetings, events and programs as directed by the President/CEO
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to generate and follow up on leads, schedule appointments, and meet sales goals
Strong communications, marketing, social media and public relations skills
Ability to represent the Chamber in a professional and enthusiastic manner in a variety of settings
Must be efficient, well-organized, able to work independently and sensitive to deadlines
The position requires a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
Some week-end, evening hours and flexibility in work schedule is needed
Requires high energy, enthusiasm, creativity and ability to work in a team environment
