As a Business Development Officer, you will be responsible for building relationships with key referral sources. These relationships will introduce you to business owners in need of financing. You will build and maintain a strong network of centers-of-influence to help produce prospects who need financing.
In this role you will typically be working independently, filling your day with referral and prospect appointments. To be successful you must be self-motivated and have strong follow-up skills. This is an individual-contributor position and will not have any direct reports.

Constantly searching for new prospects by meeting and networking with referral sources (bankers, business consultants, other industry groups) through one-on-one meetings and various events to convey the value of factoring
Calling on and meeting with owners/managers of small businesses
Prequalifying prospects and their need for financing
Gathering applications and appropriate documents from qualified companies while working with our team to craft proposals that will be accepted by the prospect
Accurately communicating the above information to the new-business team
Working with the new-business team to properly structure the relationship and move the prospect to funding
Referring unqualified prospects to the appropriate people/companies who can help
Timely and accurate tracking of your sales activities in CRM (Salesforce.com)
A friendly and confident personality
A strong desire and drive to exceed daily goals
Effective communication skills face-to-face and on the phone
A desire to learn about our financing services
Ability to educate prospective clients about our solutions
4+ years sales experience
Outbound sales experience required (Some leads will be provided by the company from our marketing efforts)
Proven ability to consistently generate new business through prospecting, outbound calling, networking, and referrals
Basic computer skills
Reliable vehicle—this position requires travel (typically regionally) to make a substantial number of outside, in-person calls on potential referral partners and prospects
Financial services (banking, mortgage, insurance) experience
Experience doing basic marketing activities
Experience using Salesforce.com
Compensation and Benefits
We offer guaranteed base pay plus a competitive commission program. Base pay is based on experience.
