Summary:

 

The Business Development Representative (BDR) is an important member of our Sales and Marketing organization, playing a critical role in the organization in uncovering and qualifying leads by understanding the prospect’s business challenges and pre-qualifying opportunities by phone and email contact.  The BDR role is focused on generating qualified sales opportunities to drive the pipeline of business for Alpega Group USA.

 

Working in collaboration with marketing, sales, and the partner channel, the BDR provides first-hand feedback and recommendations on marketing efforts based on experiences with customers and prospects.

 

Job Description:

 

Relevant tasks, projects and achievements expected for this position:

  • Actively conduct lead generation activities to maximize market exposure and identify opportunities, whilst ensuring appropriate follow up and qualification of prospects/leads

  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads via the phone, web, email, corporate events and direct mail campaigns within target assigned accounts

  • Generate suggested target marketing lists for discussion and agreement with sales prior to any Direct Marketing Communications and Sales activities and events

  • Actively participate in the innovation of new techniques and strategies for marketing Alpega’s products in order to secure new accounts

  • Participate in the first portion of the sales cycle by building relationships with key decision makers at targeted accounts

  • Collect & analyze potential customer’s financial information, critical business processes and/or system needs

  • Identify and qualify their project needs, budget, timelines, business issues and obstacles for hand off to the Sales Executive

  • Overcome objections and effectively communicate Alpega’s value propositions to key decision makers regarding appropriate Alpega product offerings. Engage appropriate Alpega resources as needed

  • Develop recommendations on appropriate product and services options

  • Participate in the opportunity reviews and reach out and collaborate with the appropriate Sales Executives in the assigned vertical

  • Inform sales of any information ascertained during customer or prospect contact that either effects the potential for successful lead generation or is market/competitor sensitive information

  • Achieve quarterly revenue generation goals set by sales management

  • Track all relevant activity in salesforce.com (including call activity, lead qualification details, lead pipeline, opportunity pipeline, etc.)

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Professional, ambitious, determined, persistent and results oriented mind-set

  • 2 years successful sales or lead development experience

  • Experience selling SaaS products preferred

  • 1-2 years of cold calling experience preferred

  • Demonstrated sales aptitude with relentlessly high standards and the desire to proceed on with a sales career

  • Positive attitude, team oriented, self-starter who can work independently as well as in a collaborative manner to achieve team goals

  • Skilled and comfortable at reaching business to business decision makers and sourcing new business leads via both warm leads and cold calling

  • Able to communicate with senior business leaders to build relationships

  • Able to qualify, prioritize and objectively review sales leads to generate maximum effectiveness and return on time invested

  • Knowledgeable in lead management processes

  • Demonstrated professionalism. Effectively manage multiple priorities

  • Understand the software/IT industry

  • Understand transportation and Logistics requirements in the USA

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient in active listening, effective telephone skills
