STATUS: Exempt - Part Time
POSITION SUMMARY
This teacher will be responsible for instructing and demonstrating the creation of ceramics pieces - both on a wheel and using handbuilding techniques. This teacher will be responsible for loading, operating and unloading the kiln for bisque and glaze firings. The teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature disciples of Jesus Christ who will seek, know, live, and proclaim the truth.

Preparation and Instruction
Follow a program of study that meets the learning objectives for each course with attention given to meaningful learning and student abilities.
Integrates biblical principles and Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum.
Utilize a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child; spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional.
Maintain accurate grading, attendance, and student progress records and communicate these in a timely manner to our students and their families.
Maintain a clean, inviting, well-ordered classroom.
Recognize the value of positive public relations and represent the school in a favorable and professional manner to our constituency.
Personal Qualities
Demonstrate a sensitivity and ability to interact effectively with staff, parents, volunteers, and students.
Understand the importance of discernment, discretion, and confidentiality in the operation of the classroom and school.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited postsecondary institution.
Experience in Art instruction or practice.
Ceramics experience required.
Experience loading and operating kiln.
Technical
Experience in technology including but not limited to classroom management software (Blackbaud and Google Suite - preferred).
Pay
$550 - $1050 average range; actual pay based on number of classes taught and candidate’s education & experience.
