KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Director of Operations, Missions oversees the operational systems, processes, projects, and coordination that enables the Missions Ministry to execute the ENGAGE strategy effectively. This role ensures vision is translated into clear plans, aligned teams, and measurable outcomes through relational and collaborative leadership.  This position will be responsible for the following:

 

 Strategy Execution

  • Partner with the Senior Director of Missions to support the development and execution of the organization’s mission’s strategy.

  • Translate the ENGAGE vision and strategy into clear, actionable ministry plans and projects in collaboration with ministry leaders and the Missions team.

  • Oversee the implementation of ENGAGE initiatives, including short-term trips, missionary sending and care, local evangelism, and missions training programs.

  • Align and coordinate staff, volunteers, and ministry leaders to effectively execute ENGAGE-related missions initiatives.

  • Evaluate existing missions’ programs to assess their lifecycle and effectiveness, and collaborate with ministry leaders to develop new initiatives, curriculum, and projects that embed the mission’s strategy in measurable ways.

  • Partner with the Communications Coordinator to effectively promote and communicate ENGAGE opportunities throughout Grace Church.

  • Contribute to the evaluation, development, and execution of missions, equipping pathways, training programs, strategic partnerships, and internship initiatives.

  • Contribute to efforts that enhance and expand local missional engagement.

  • Track, evaluate, and report on progress toward ENGAGE strategic objectives.

 

Operational Systems

  • Oversee systems supporting the Senior Director, mission trip planning and execution, missionary sending and care, training and equipping programs, and partnership/donor management, ensuring all processes are clear, scalable, secure, and repeatable.

 

Resource Stewardship

  • Manage the preparation and oversight of mission’s budgets and financial operations.

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation and oversight of monthly payouts to missionaries and ministry teams.

  • Oversee resource allocation to ensure effective stewardship and alignment with Grace Church Mission’s values and strategic priorities.


Measurement & Accountability

  • Develop and monitor key metrics to evaluate the impact of mission’s initiatives—including discipleship, church growth, partnerships, and member engagement—and provide regular accountability reports to the Senior Director.

 

Culture & Alignment

  • Promote a culture of prayer and disciple-making in the Missions ministry while ensuring that operations align with the team’s core values: Biblical Faithfulness, Prayer-Driven Mission, Kingdom Expansion, Unity, and Joyful Service.


PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS

  • Educational requirements: Bachelor’s degree.

  • Experience required: 5+ years’ relevant operations and project management, and preferably missions experience.

  • Has demonstrated skills in relating to and working with colleagues, volunteers, the congregation, and others, within a servant-leadership team environment.

  • Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

  • Has a commitment to personal and active participation in the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18-20).

  • Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations.

  • For leadership positions, the candidate must be willing to become a member of Grace Church, regularly and consistently attending the weekend worship services and participating in the life of the church.

  • Has demonstrated a spiritual capacity and heart willingness to view this ministry as being a ministry unto the Lord, by serving the body of Grace Church.

  • Demonstrate a personal passion to minister to people within the context of the local church

  • Compatibility with the Grace Church Missions, Vision, Values, and Priorities, and a lifestyle appropriate to a person in Christian ministry.

  • Has a commitment to prayer, as evidenced in both corporate and personal prayer times.

  • The staff member agrees to abide by the staff handbook.
