The Housing Stability area of the Health and Human Services department is seeking to fill a Case Management Assistant position with an individual who has effective customer service and communication skills, the ability to learn complex programs, and the desire to serve the community. Interested candidates will need to be able to handle a high level of demanding situations while engaging in frequent interactions with tenants and property owners.
Location and hours:
This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours are flexible between the hours of 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., Monday – Friday. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota.
In this position, you will:
Provide triage and navigation for tenants at risk of losing their housing.
Assist tenants in initiating or completing applications for rent assistance.
Answer calls from residents requesting rent assistance and other supports to maintain their housing.
Complete triage forms and refer tenants to appropriate resources.
Attend all one to one, unit, and program meetings.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Two years or more of responsible, paid social service experience providing direct client service.
A two-year human services certificate.
Two years or more of college coursework in the behavioral sciences.
Nice to have:
Experience:
Working with a housing or rent assistance program.
Using a computer to input, retrieve, and modify information, and performing data entry from paper/electronic documents and forms into a computer system.
Working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams & Word).
Effective interpersonal and writing skills.
Ability to:
Work effectively and communicate with individuals from a variety of cultural and lifestyle backgrounds in a respectful and non-judgmental manner.
Establish and maintain professional working relationships with clients, staff, and the public.
Work both independently and collaboratively as an effective team member.
