The Population Health Department at Hennepin Health is seeking a Population Health Analyst to play a pivotal role in advancing our mission to improve the health of our members. Hennepin Health is a Medicaid Managed Care Organization and provides health care coverage to Hennepin County residents who are enrolled in a Minnesota Health Care Program This position will work with data from multiple sources including medical/dental claims, HEDIS, census, and survey data. This population health program is in development and needs support from an analyst who can be creative, think with a population health mindset, and be able to problem solve with a positive approach. The analyst should also expect to use data outside of the Hennepin Health system such as census data and data from other county systems and synthesize it to map out risk level geographically in Hennepin County. The ideal applicant will have the skillset to create a data program, ideate, innovate and be excited to work with the Population Health Manager to drive department strategy.
Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site the Hennepin County Public Health Clinic; 525 Portland Ave S Minneapolis, MN and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. In this position, you will:
Extract and define relevant clinical, quality, and operational data; recognize
when data does not seem accurate
Understand, analyze, and interpret data for customers who must make strategic,
economic, or operational decisions
Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical
packages, business intelligence software, and data visualization software to assemble,
manipulate, and/or format data, graphs, and/or reports.
Interpret data statistically to determine past population or clinical performance and/or to predict a population or clinical probability.
Develop and implement project plans for complex studies that bring solutions.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Bachelor's degree or higher in any field and a minimum of two courses in research methods, analysis, statistics, project management, planning or evaluation and four years or more of relevant planning analyst and/or project management experience.
Bachelor's degree or higher in data analytics, business analytics, business administration, public administration, research/evaluation methods, statistics, behavioral/social science, public health, computer science/MIS, management science, urban/city, or a related field and three years or more of relevant planning analyst and/or project management experience.
Master's degree or higher in one of the fields listed above and two years or more of relevant planning analyst and/or project management experience.
Ph.D. degree in one of the fields listed above.
Nice to have:
