Data Engineer @ Delta Dental of Minnesota
GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for managing and maintaining databases used by our business intelligence team and web development teams for enterprise-wide use. Responsible for preparation of system requirements, analysis, and designs throughout the data warehouse implementation. Response for performing highly complex systems process analysis, design, and simulation across multiple platforms and/or cross-functional business areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Design warehouse database structures and implement changes.
Maintain and improve the logical and physical dimension data model for analytics and web development.
Maintain and improve data warehouse process models, including sourcing, loading, transformation, and extraction.
Create supporting documentation, such as metadata and siaframs of entity relationships, business processes, and process flow.
Develop data interpretation with systems, such as salesforce.com.
Develops standards, such as organization, structure, or nomenclature, for the design of data warehouse elements, such as data architectures, models, tools, and databases.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Proficient in SQL and relational database concepts (PL/SQL preferred, but not required)
Experience with integration and third-party APIs
Knowledge of open source big data tools a plus (MongoDB, Spark, etc.)
Knowledge of Linux preferred.
Technical knowledge of database management system software and/or related software products and utilities.
Well-developed logical reasoning skills, problem-solving skills, and analytical skills.
Highly collaborative
Good oral and written communication skills.
Required: Demonstrated full proof of vaccination against COVID-19 prior to start date
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; and/or equivalent work experience
2+ years of related work experience
