Description
Hennepin County's Information Technology department is seeking a Driver for the Central Services division. This position will sort, deliver, and pick up large and small packages on a scheduled route while driving a Hennepin County vehicle.

Location and hours:
This position will be located onsite at the Hennepin County Government Center, 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is a full-time, benefit earning position. This position is internally classified as a Driver. Click here to view the job classification specification. In this position, you will:
· Drive a county vehicle on daily scheduled runs and special errands within Hennepin County.
· Load and unload vehicle with mail and packages weighing as much as 40 pounds (a case of paper).
· Assist shipping and receiving area with various duties including sorting interoffice mail and receiving packages.
· Track packages by entering package related information into tracking system and applying tracking bar codes to all packages.
· Act as a liaison between the various offices and mail stops for the Central Services group.
· Keep vehicle in good working condition (i.e., bring vehicle into the garage when needed, have the oil changed, etc.).
Need to have:
· A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver's permit.
· Ability to lift and deliver heavy boxes up to 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Nice to have:
· Experience operating passenger vans or delivery vehicles.
· Knowledge of printing and/or mailing operations.
· Ability to:
o Maintain good time management skills.
o Manage problems and resolve conflicts.
o Learn routes and read maps.
o Ability to perform basic computer skills.
