POSITION SUMMARY
The Theatre Program Director is responsible for setting the vision for the theatre program, establishing the season calendar,
overseeing the production team, managing the theatre budget, and instructing students to grow in their acting and theatrical skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Selects plays for the upcoming season (note: SWCHS currently produces three plays annually - Fall Play, SoFresh, Spring Musical)
Hires and oversees the production team; participates in theatre cast auditions.
Creates a welcoming and nurturing environment in the theatre program.
Plans and manages overall theatre budget and expenses for each production; ensures all invoices are submitted and paid.
Plans and communicates annual budget information to the Head of School and Director of Finance.
Coordinates with Fine Arts Boosters to recruit volunteers to support the productions.
Lead rehearsals for the theatre productions.
Communicates with parents to outline the theatre program and expectations.
Establishes student outreach programs to ensure high participation.
Partners with the Director of Strategic Marketing and the Multimedia Designer to promote plays and the theatre program.
Oversees the International Thespian Society (ITS), an honor society for theatre students.
Coordinates awards for the end of the year Fine Arts banquet.
Oversees organization and storage of theatrical equipment and resources.
May produce and direct one or more of the annual plays.

Spiritual Maturity: Exhibit a consistent desire for spiritual growth, evidenced by prayer, Bible study, integrity of character, and bearing the fruit of the Spirit in all interactions.
Christian Role Model: Serve as a positive Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others, including adherence to God's biblical standards for sexual conduct (Luke 6:40).
Required Commitment: Must commit to, sign, and uphold SWCHS’s Pledge of Integrity & Biblical Morality, Statement of Faith, Vision & Values, and Social Position Statement as a condition for employment
Professional Qualities
Degree in Theatre or related field
Previous experience teaching or directing theatre to high school students.
Experience directing and producing theatre productions.
Demonstrated ability to identify, screen, and hire production director(s).
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with SWC staff, students, parents, and other theatre production resources.
Ability to work alongside a team of individuals who help support this role and the needs of the school.
Salary & Benefits
$18,000 - $22,000 average range; actual salary based on number of classes taught and candidate’s education & experience.
