Your day as a Infertility Coordinator

As an Infertility Coordinator at Minnesota Urology P.A., you will play a vital role in enhancing patient care by collaborating directly with our dedicated patient care team to develop tailored infertility treatment plans. You will efficiently enter orders and schedule patients for appointments and surgical procedures within our EHR system, ensuring seamless access to necessary services and tests. Your responsibilities will include coordinating workflow across interdisciplinary teams, such as radiology and imaging, to facilitate optimal patient experiences.

Effective communication is key, as you will guide patients through the scheduling of procedures, surgical preparations, and insurance requirements. You'll ensure all necessary consents, pre-certifications, and referrals are in place, while also confirming that patients have the appropriate medications and prescriptions for their treatments. Additionally, you will provide crucial pre- and post-operative surgical education, ensuring a smooth and informed journey for every patient.

To excel as an Infertility Coordinator at Minnesota Urology, you will need a blend of interpersonal skills, technical proficiency, and relevant experience. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, though vocational or technical training, as well as an Associate’s degree, is preferred. Your success will heavily rely on your prior experience in high-level customer service roles within the healthcare sector, alongside at least two years of scheduling experience in a healthcare setting. Familiarity with surgery scheduling is essential, and previous experience in handling insurance authorizations will be beneficial.

Proficiency in software tools such as Athena and EPIC is preferred, enabling you to manage patient records and streamline processes effectively. Additionally, a background in infertility care will enhance your ability to meet the needs of patients navigating their treatment options. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and empathy will be critical in ensuring a positive patient experience.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Vocational/technical training diploma or Associates degree preferred

  • Prior experience in a high-level customer service role within healthcare

  • Two or more years of previous scheduling experience in a healthcare setting

  • One year of previous surgery scheduling experience in a healthcare setting

  • Previous experience with insurance authorizations preferred

  • Previous experience with Athena/EPIC etc. is preferred

  • Previous experience working with infertility preferred
