Make a difference as a Physician Assistant

As a Full-Time Physician Assistant at Minnesota Urology, you will play a crucial role throughout the surgical continuum, starting with preoperative care by conducting thorough urologic histories and physical exams. You will order and interpret essential diagnostic tests while educating patients on procedures such as TURP, cystoscopy, and prostate surgery, ensuring they are well-prepared for their journey. In the hospital you will round on patients that have undergone laparoscopic, and open urologic surgeries, performing vital tasks like wound closure and catheter placement while maintaining sterile techniques. Postoperatively, you will monitor patient recovery, manage Foley catheters, and provide comprehensive wound care, all while documenting clinical encounters and updating the EMR. Your role will also encompass completing a clinic schedule with consultations, making you an integral part of our commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Other factors we consider in setting the specific pay for an individual will generally include, among other things, experience, specialized skills, work location, and internal equity to provide competitive offers. The range stated below is a starting point of the compensation conversation, we'd like to hear what your compensation expectations are too!

With a competitive pay range of $113,200.00 to $141,500.00 annually, based on your years of experience, your contributions to our customer-centric service will be recognized and valued.

Would you be a great Physician Assistant?

To thrive as a Full-Time Physician Assistant at Minnesota Urology, candidates must possess a blend of technical and interpersonal skills. A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program is essential, along with NCCPA certification and a Minnesota PA license to ensure adherence to industry standards. BLS and ACLS certifications are also required, underscoring the importance of being prepared for critical situations.

Prior experience in urology or surgical specialties is preferred, as it enhances your ability to navigate complex patient scenarios effectively. Strong communication skills are vital for educating patients and collaborating with the surgical team. Additionally, attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining sterile techniques and accurate documentation will be crucial for success in this dynamic, patient-focused role.

These skills will enable you to deliver high-quality care and contribute meaningfully to our team.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
