KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Grace Beginnings Academy Assistant Teacher is passionate about supporting and caring for young children in a Christ-centered environment. The ideal candidate models Christ-like patience and grace, works collaboratively with the lead teacher, and helps support each child’s growth in their physical, social-emotional, cognitive, and spiritual development. This role assists in implementing lessons and activities that are Christ-centered and rooted in play and exploration. This is a year-round position.
Support the educational experiences in the classroom as directed by the classroom teacher.
Assist in the completion of documenting daily activities, and incident/behavior reports as directed by the classroom teacher.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with the classroom teacher to support daily routines, classroom management, and the overall learning environment.
Assist the classroom teacher in maintaining a safe, clean, organized classroom and assume the responsibility to complete the duties required to maintain an orderly facility.
Assist in prepping learning materials as directed by the classroom teacher.
Approach behavioral issues that arise with children with Christ-centered love, respect and patience.
At drop off or pick up foster positive relationships with parents.
Facilitate the classroom routines and activities when the classroom teacher is absent.
Attend all required training and staff meetings throughout the year.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is an essential requirement of this position.
Maintains licensing compliance.
Other duties as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS:
Educational requirements: High School Diploma required.
Experience required: Must meet licensing requirements for an assistant.
Has a commitment to prayer, as evidenced in both corporate and personal prayer.
