Description
The Adult Correctional Facility (ACF) in the Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) has a vacancy for a Superintendent Facility Administrator. ACF is the largest institution within DOCCR which includes a 396 bed men's facility and a 78 bed women's facility. This position will oversee 170+ employees, 11 managers, and a budget of $26.6 million. This position will design and direct institutional procedures with respect to operations; plan, organize, and direct the activities of the ACF; and develop objectives, standards, and controls necessary for the safe and secure administration of division programs with an emphasis on evidence based practices programming.

Location and hours:
This position is located at the Adult Corrections Facility at 1145 Shenandoah Lane, Plymouth, MN 55447. The ACF is a medium level security facility, it is located 13 miles from downtown Minneapolis, and there is no public transportation to this facility. Work hours will typically be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. with flexibility for evening and on-call responsibilities. New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.
About this position:
This is a full-time, benefit earning position. This position is internally classified as a Corrections Division Manager. Click here to view the job classification specification.

In this position, you will:
· Coordinate the planning, organizing, and directing of activities of a correctional division.
· Establish and modify correctional division policies and procedures to be consistent with departmental, county, and state regulations.
· Interpret and communicate policies and procedures to subordinate supervisors.
· Make periodic evaluation of staff performance and operating units and take or recommend appropriate action.
· Provide leadership to managers in hiring, motivating, and/or training of correctional division staff and participate in succession planning, as appropriate.
· Coordinate division activities with personnel of allied agencies in the justice system, other county departments, and community organizations.
· Assist with the preparation and administration of the division budget.
· Address complaints from clients, residents, staff, community agencies, and the general public in coordinating efforts for resolution with the Professional Standards and Conduct Unit.
· Participate in public information programs by speaking to community groups and educational institutions about the correctional division.
· Complete quarterly and annual reports of division budget and performance indicators.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Nine years or more of experience in corrections, two of which must have been in administration or supervision.
o Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, behavioral/social science, or business, correctional, or public administration or equivalent and five years or more of the experience in corrections, two of which must have been in administration or supervision.
o Master's degree or higher in criminal justice, behavioral/social science, or business, correctional, or public administration or equivalent and four years or more of experience in corrections.
· A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver's permit.
