Description
The Data and Analytics team within the Hennepin County Assessor’s Office is seeking a Planning Analyst to assist with a variety of work related to the maintenance and management of the county’s Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) system. This position will also contribute to the various data requests and standardized reporting performed by the Data and Analytics team, with an emphasis on the end-user support that the CAMA line of business is responsible for.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at 625 4th Avenue South, Minneapolis, 55415, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, with typical hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. In this position, you will:
· Provide timely and accurate support to field appraisers by fulfilling data requests, troubleshooting and explaining application issues, and communicating clear business processes.
· Log, track, organize, and resolve tickets logged by end users with application support questions.
· Collaborate with a variety of teams and lines of business including the Assessor’s Office, Recorder’s Office, County Attorney’s Office, and Information Technology on the development, testing, training, deployment, and adoption of solutions.
· Modify and maintain data collection forms and procedures.
· Assist in the implementation of new applications and processes for both internal and external customers.
· Use computer/statistical software to generate reports.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Related education and/or experience to total four years or more.
o Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, research methods, statistics, behavioral/social science, public health, computer science/MIS, management science, or urban/city planning.
Nice to have:
· Experience:
o Responding quickly and resolutely to immediate computer application problems in a time-sensitive manner.
o With IT related customer support, and support ticketing via online tracking tools like SharePoint.
o With problem definition, information gathering, and applying creative solutions.
o Using enterprise-level data extraction and related tools including Structured Query Language (SQL), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), RStudio, and PowerBI.
o Knowledge and familiarity with statistical principles and a variety of quantitative analysis processes and techniques.
o Ability to:
o Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
o Maintain employee/participant confidentiality and trust.
o Apply problem-solving skills and make data-informed recommendations or action.
o Present complex data and explain conclusions to laypersons.
