Description
Hennepin County Library is seeking a Library Community Services Coordinator (Spanish Bilingual) to coordinate providing educational, collection and customer service support for members of the wide and varied Spanish speaking community in Hennepin County. Work will include coordinating communication and collaboration between county and community partners, listening to and engaging directly with Hennepin County residents, supporting library staff who engage directly with Hennepin County residents, project or program coordination, tracking activities, outcomes and budgets, and developing and presenting progress reports.
The Library Community Services Coordinator will be a member of the library’s Community Engagement team and will work closely with both Hennepin County’s Education Support Services and Outreach and Community Supports departments, as well as other county departments, to provide high quality and culturally responsive services for residents.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed at various library buildings, in the community, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will generally be Monday through Friday, with some evening and weekend hours required. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. New Employee Orientation (NEO) for all new benefit-earning employees is in-person in downtown Minneapolis. Details about NEO will be provided upon hire.

I
n this position, you will:
· Act as a cross-county liaison to support Spanish speaking county residents; maintain connections with the Library, Education Support Services, Outreach and Community Supports, Hennepin County Youth Education team, Housing Stability, and other relevant county departments, as well as education and school partners and community-based organizations to ensure quality customer service and provide scoping for the library’s work with these partners.
· Work with library supervisors to ensure appropriate work direction for Spanish bilingual library liaison staff who engage directly with Hennepin County residents, including providing direct service to residents.
· Coordinate and obtain feedback from county residents, using a variety of engagement strategies.
· Conduct literature review/environmental scan on culturally responsive public library services nationwide.
· Convene key partners and co-facilitators and workgroups.
· Develop policies, procedures and plans for supporting Spanish speaking county residents.
· Establish goals and objectives and evaluate performance of education and literacy projects and initiatives related to service to Spanish speaking residents.
· Work with key partners on data collection plans and ongoing review of needed collection.
· Develop and present reports on projects and initiatives.
· Consult on staffing needs and budget cost implications, assist in setting priorities and making recommendations for future work.
· Recommend policy and procedures review as they relate to Spanish speaking county residents.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Eight or more years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position. General administrative work is defined as the administration and/or management of programs, policies, and/or budgets.
o Bachelor's degree or higher in public administration, business administration, or other field appropriate to the position and four or more years of experience in general administrative work relating to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position. General administrative work is defined as the administration and/or management of programs, policies, and/or budgets.
· Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish, in addition to English, both verbally and in writing.

· Knowledge of:
o Principles and practices of community engagement.
