Description
The Hennepin County's Facility Services department is hiring a Card Access Specialist to manage the card access program for its Security division. This position will work with software to ensure facilities are safe and secure by issuing and managing access badges for all employees and contractors across Hennepin County. This position will also support the department with clerical tasks, such as documenting existing procedures and assisting with background checks as needed. Location and hours:
This position is located at the Hennepin County Government Center building in downtown Minneapolis at 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487. Work hours are designated during core business hours from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday with occasional overtime.

In this position, you will:
· Provide customer service and assist with a broad range of requests for information.
· Provide access badge assistance to all new employees and partners.
· Use the county's software application to manage card access for employees, vendors, and partners.
· Provide access compliance reporting on request.
· Act as a subject matter expert for card access to support special projects.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Two years or more of full-time office clerical experience.
o Completion of two years or more of post-high school education.
o 18 months or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Office Specialist Pathway Training program.
o One year or more of office clerical experience and completion of the Human Services Pathway Training program.
Nice to have:
· Experience:
o Providing customer service in person, on the phone, and email.
o Managing a general department email inbox.
o Working with card access in a public or private setting.
o Working in a customer service focus position.
o Working with computers and Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
o Running report queries for compliance or other reporting requests.
· Ability to:
o Provide great customer service and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
o Process repetitive transactions.
o Use independent judgment and excellent prioritization skills.
o Work under little supervision and/or work direction.
