The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) is seeking a Corrections Program Manager to manage violence and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention (CBI) services for clients in the Adult Probation Supervision Services division. This position will work closely with department managers, community providers, Field Services Client Programming (FSCP), Safe Communities (SC), criminal justice partners, city agencies, and subject matter experts to develop and deliver critical services to clients in need. This position will also inform policy decisions and develop written policy for our adult divisions and department.Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into an open competitive position may be eligible for a $500 referral bonus. Location and hours:This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at Hennepin County Government Center, 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will typically be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with flexibility for evening and on-call responsibilities. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin. New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment. Implement, oversee, and manage gun violence intervention strategies for DOCCR.
Build robust internal CBI practices for AFD and collaborate with FSCP to add external CBI delivery methods to meet client needs.
Manage employees in the neighborhood probation program area and the Adult Field Divisions (AFD) CBI team.
Act as a liaison to FSCP to ensure excellent use and access to community providers by AFD staff.
Manage the departmental intel network and serve as the departmental point of contact for safety alerts.
Assist the division manager in the development of in-service training programs, evaluation, and professional development of staff to ensure full utilization of areas of responsibility, including but not limited to CBI, public safety intelligence sharing, and gun violence mitigation.
Ensure implementation, develop and revise division and administrative policies and procedures, and prepare regular and special reports for the division, field services area, and/or department regarding development, utilization, and outcomes of all assigned responsibilities.
Participate in the management of Adult Probation Supervision Services (APSS) division.
Advise the area director and division manager; act in absence of the division manager by exercising administrative control for the division or part thereof.
Provide leadership to further department-based strategies that align with county goals, mission and core values for diversity, equity & inclusion.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Master's degree or higher in behavioral science, business, correctional administration, criminal justice, public administration, or another closely related field and three years or more of professional experience in corrections.
Bachelor's degree in one of the above-cited fields and four years or more of the required experience, one year of which must have been in administration or supervision.
Eight years or more of professional experience in corrections, one year of which must have been in administration or supervision.
