Description
The Total Rewards division of the Human Resources (HR) department is seeking a HR IT Analyst to lead the data reporting capabilities for the division and support broader HR department data needs. This position will work in Peoplesoft to develop new queries and manage and update existing queries to meet the needs of business customers while also helping to build reporting capabilities from the HR Data Warehouse. This position works with other stakeholders to define business requirements and build, test and deliver data to meet the needs of the HR department and other internal and external customers.

Location and hours:This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Hours will be flexible, working 8 hours per day during core business hours, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
While this position is designated as remote, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.
About the position type:
This is a full-time benefit earning position. At this time, employees may be eligible to receive an additional cash merit of up to $1860.43 that can be earned annually based on performance.

In this position, you will:
Utilize SQL developer and other querying and reporting tools to deliver data solutions from Peoplesoft and the HR Data Warehouse.
Develop, utilize, and promote querying and reporting best practices and quality standards.
Interpret business needs, define business requirements and build querying/reporting solutions based on Hennepin County's standards and industry best practices.
Partner with functional business users and technical leads to design and deliver quality data solutions.
Collaborate with other stakeholders in the Office of Budget and Finance and IT department to improve overall capability to rapidly create and deploy data needs for internal HR customers and organizational wide needs.
Provide input with the planning and estimation of work products and projects.
Collaborate with internal HR staff to define, prioritize and deliver work products and repeatable processes and procedures.
Participate in peer reviews and continuous improvement efforts.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Five years or more of IT experience.
Completion of approved Hennepin County IT internship and three years or more of IT experience.
Completion of five college/vocational/technical information technology courses and three years or more of IT experience.
Associate's/vocational/technical degree in a field listed below and three years or more of IT experience.
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, management information systems (MIS), information technology or an approved information technology field related to the position and one year or more of IT experience.

Experience:
Designing and creating reports from specified requirements.
Working with IBM Cognos, Power BI, PSQUERY/SQL Developer and other reporting tools.
Developing business report and dashboard solutions with Microsoft tools such as Power BI and/or PeopleSoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Utilizing SQL to perform data mining and analysis activities to support business decisions and report development.
Extracting data from Oracle and Microsoft SQL databases.
Working with PeopleSoft (Financial Management (FIN) and Human Capital Management (HCM) modules.
Knowledge of Data warehouses.
Ability to:
Use creative problem-solving techniques when confronted with issues.
Provide excellent customer service and interact effectively with end users.
Work collaboratively with managers, customers, and other developers.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization.
