The Child Support Service area within the Human Services and Public Health (HSPH) department is seeking a Human Services Supervisor to lead a team of child support officers in the Child Support Intake unit. The Child Support Service area is responsible for establishing paternity and child support orders, enforcing child support, medical support, and childcare obligations. This position would supervise a team of staff that are responsible for opening, reopening and assessing child support cases to determine the next appropriate action for the case.
Location and hours:
This position is remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours are primarily Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility in start and end times. While this position is designated as remote, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
In these positions, you will:
Supervise a team of child support officers by reviewing the unit and team's case flow, provide staff coaching and development, evaluate employee performance and conduct case reviews.
Manage team operations and promote area, department, and countywide direction and change initiatives.
Guide and facilitate agreements, results, and measurements.
Suggest and model new and effective ways of doing business and assist in the development of area-wide systems and work processes.
Work closely with internal and external partners.
Interpret federal, state and agency rules, regulations, and policies.
Administer employer and employee labor contracts within the team.
Need to have:
Four years or more of paraprofessional experience in determining appropriate funding sources for financial assistance, performing support collection activities, and/or providing employment readiness assistance. Note: Supervisory experience in a human services setting may be substituted for up to two years of paraprofessional experience on a year for year basis.
