The Law, Safety and Justice (LSJ) Information Technology (IT) Operations team is seeking a team-oriented IT Analyst II to join the team. Members of this team work together to deliver technical support to customers in the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office (HCAO) and external LSJ partners. Location and hours: This position is hybrid and will be performed both onsite at the Government Center at 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis Minnesota 55487, and remote as job duties require. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment. About the position type: This is a full-time benefit earning position. This position is internally classified as an Information Technology Analyst II. At this time, employees may be eligible to receive an additional cash merit of up to $1,860.43 that can be earned annually based on performance. In this position, you will:
· Provide technical support and act as a subject matter expert for Hennepin County Attorney’s Office (HCAO) software applications to all HCAO employees and external LSJ partners.
· Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical partners on service requests and other enterprise solutions.
· Assist with new software and hardware project rollouts to HCAO employees.
· Document technical/support information for software applications and hardware devices in the HCAO IT SharePoint/Knowledge Base.
· Assist with onboarding and off-boarding HCAO employees into IT systems.
· Assist with inventory management of HCAO physical hardware assets.
· Develop, implement, and interpret IT policies, procedures and practices related to information systems.
· Research and support adoption of new tools and processes as they are implemented.
· Create and maintain documentation on procedures.
· Write business requirements, work with technical resources and test prior to implementation for new system solutions.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Four years or more of information technology experience.
o Completion of approved Hennepin County IT internship and two years or more of IT experience.
o Completion of five college/vocational/technical information technology courses and two years or more of IT experience.
o Associate's/vocational/technical degree in a field listed below and two years or more of IT experience.
o Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, management information systems (MIS), information technology or an approved information technology field related to the position.
· Certification or ability to become certified in ITIL Foundations within 6 months of hire.
Nice to have:
· Experience:
o With in-person/using remote support tools to troubleshoot technical issues involving software applications, networks, printers, hardware, etc.
o Providing technical support for HCAO or LSJ systems.
o Effective communication with end users who possess a wide variety of technical knowledge.
o Supporting a variety of software applications in the Microsoft environment and hardware platforms for multiple service lines of business.
o Working with IT staff and business partners to ensure quality partnerships to deliver IT solutions.
· Knowledge of:
o FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) policy.
o Office productivity software (i.e., Microsoft Office).
o IT systems, IT industry frameworks (ITIL, IT Service Management, Agile, Dev Ops).
o IT infrastructure and platforms.
o Microsoft SharePoint.
· Ability to:
o Interpersonally communicate on a one-to-one basis with peers, before communicating with a larger group.
o Organize and coordinate multiple complex activities.
o Develop and maintain effective working relationships with department heads, county officials, and employees.
o Advocate for needs and desired results of the business.
o Produce desired IT initiative results.
o Write clear and concise reports.
o Monitor budgets.
