The Behavioral Health Clinic at NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center is hiring a Mental Health Therapist to join their team. This position will provide clinical mental health services to child, adolescent, and adult patients at PYC Arts & Technical High School and NorthPoint. This position will conduct clinical interviews, complete diagnostic assessment reports (to include presenting problems, psychosocial and medication histories, psychiatric diagnoses), create treatment plans, and provide psychotherapy.
Candidates who are looking to serve in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) will be pleased to know that NorthPoint's score is 21. Health care providers that help underserved communities are eligible for scholarship and loan repayment programs.
Need to have:
Master's degree or higher in social work or closely related field and two or more years of post-master's degree experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting.
Qualification as a Mental Health Professional.
Current licensure as an Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) by the Minnesota Board of Social Work, Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) by the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health, and/or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) by the Minnesota Board of Marriage and Family Therapy.
Nice to have:
Experience using the Epic electronic health records system.
Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.
Knowledge of clinical interview techniques to be used with children and families.
Knowledge of resources available through Hennepin County and the community.
Skill in working with patients of varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds including patients who may require the use of an interpreter.
Ability to:
Establish effective therapeutic relationships with patients and their families.
Gather and interpret pertinent psychosocial and psychological data in cases characterized by complex problems and the ability to use this data to inform diagnostic considerations and develop effective therapeutic interventions.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other professionals, and the public.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
