Description
The Road division of Hennepin County's Transportation Operation department is seeking candidates to work as Seasonal Highway Maintenance Operators for the 2023 season.

Full salary range is $21.00 -$22.05/hr., targeted starting rate is $22.04/hr.
Location and hours: These positions are located at the Public Works Facility, at 1600 Prairie Drive, Medina, Minnesota, 55340. Work hours will be Monday to Friday, and may vary including eight-to-ten-hour shift, and up to 40 hours per week. There is no public transportation to this facility.
About these position types:
These are temporary seasonal (non-benefit earning) positions that may last for up to six months during the 2023 road construction season (April–October 2023).
These positions are internally classified as Casual Laborer. Click here to view the job classification specification. In these positions, you will:
· Flag Traffic, pave asphalt, and trim trees
· Shovel and rake.
· Patch potholes and seal cracks.
· Clean ditches and landscape.
· Perform other road construction/traffic maintenance related laborer tasks.
Must be 18 years or older and need to have:
· Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver's permit.
· Ability to:
o Follow verbal and written directions.
o Lift and carry items weighing up to 70 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
o Stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, and work on uneven terrain.
Nice to have:
· Availability and willingness to work until the end of the season (April through October 2023).
· Experience:
o Performing duties similar to a Seasonal Laborer.
o Flagging on a road construction project.
o With traffic maintenance related equipment.
· Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
