Description
Human Resources department is seeking for a Wellness Coordinator to join their team in the HealthWorks division. In this position, with a focus on prevention and wellbeing, you will plan and implement engaging activities that support employees, their families, and retirees' actions towards reaching optimal health. You will use best practices, evaluation, survey, benefits claims and other data to inform programming efforts. Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into an open competitive position may be eligible for a $500 referral bonus. Remote workers may be required to come on-site 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Based on business needs of this position, hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota. Work hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment. · Plan, implement, and evaluate wellness events such as Hennepin 5k, onsite biometric screenings, annual flu vaccination clinics, speakers, etc.
· Plan, implement, and evaluate health and wellness challenges and fitness opportunities – virtually and in-person.
· Coordinate Live Well wellness incentive programming and communications, and Employee Assistance Program.
· Coordinate Wellness Champion Network; partner with wellness programming in other county departments and work units.
· Identify and provide health, wellbeing and wellness resources and recommendations to individuals and groups throughout the county.
· Promote and present HealthWorks and health benefits programs through a variety of communication modalities.
· Interpret and communicate health and wellness program participation requirements and procedures.
· Assist county staff and retirees via the HealthWorks.us mailbox, phone calls, and voicemail.
· Identify, strategize, and implement quality improvement efforts that ensure positive customer service outcomes. Recommend policy, procedure and actions needed.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o A certificate in human resources or community health worker certificate from an approved college or university and four years or more of professional human resources or related health education, public health, or community health experience.
o Two years of college including 12 semester credits in the fields below and four years or more of professional human resources or related health education, public health, or community health experience.
o Bachelor's degree in business administration, health education, public health, community health, industrial relations, human resources administration, public administration, psychology, or a field closely related to the position and two years or more of professional human resources or related health education, public health, or community health experience.
· Ability to travel throughout Hennepin County to coordinate, set up, operate, and take down events and activities.

· Working understanding of cultural differences and the impacts of culture on service effectiveness, organizational effectiveness, and effective relationships with staff, partners, and those we serve.
