Description
The Assessor's Office is seeking two Assessment Technicians to perform all administrative functions of the Assessor's Office. Under immediate supervision, these people will assist with the processing of statutory assessment obligations.

Location and hours:
These positions are remote. Remote workers may be required to come on-site an average of 0 to 12 days a year for work meetings, trainings, or for any other reasons that their supervisor may deem necessary (may include additional days for onboarding and new employee training). Supervisors will provide as much advance notice as practicable. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with some flexibility.While this position is designated as remote, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
Note: Initial training for these positions will be held in person.
New employees who are hired into remote positions between January 2, 2022, to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In these positions, you will:
Interact with internal/external customers.
Process sales information.
Post characteristics, valuation, and classification data to assessment rolls.
Administer and maintain exclusions, deferrals, homesteads, and special programs.
Post, process, and edit changes to assessment rolls.
Maintain manufactured home assessment files.
Maintain personal property and state assessed assessment records.
File and maintain records in accordance with all record retention and Data Policy requirements.
Need to have:
One of the following:
Associate degree or higher in business or completion of an approved business school certification program.
One year or more of experience performing paraprofessional appraisal/assessment work or processing Electronic Certificates of Real Estate Value (eCRVs) and/or other legal documents related to real estate.
Earned the designation of Certified Minnesota Assessor (CMA).
Nice to have:
Experience:
Supporting departments such as real estate appraisal or in the assessor's office.
Working in real estate and/or title company.
Providing data entry and verification of data entry.
Working with eCRV.
Using Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
Working with deeds, liens, and other documents recorded against real estate property.
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with municipal and county staff and the general public.
