Description
The Adult Specialized Supervision Services (S3) division within the Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) is seeking a Case Management Assistant (CMA) in the Inter/Intrastate Unit. CMAs in the Inter/Intrastate Unit monitor the outgoing inter/intrastate caseload for Hennepin County DOCCR. The clients on this caseload are being supervised on Hennepin County matters in other counties and/or states. Individuals who bring diversity of work and lived experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Location and hours:This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the downtown Minneapolis Government Center 300 South 6th Street A-8, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55487, and Brookdale 6125 Shingle Creek Parkway, Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, 55430, and remote as job duties require. Work hours are generally from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with flexibility. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.
New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive $500 toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position, you will:
· Submit, review, and correct outgoing transfers for supervision inside and outside of MN.
· Maintain client contact while transfer investigations are pending, including managing denials and determining next supervision steps.
· Document case information in automated informational systems.
· Consult with supervising agencies and court partners to manage probation violations, discharge reports and case amendments as needed.
· Prepare violation reports, order to appears and case amendments for court as necessary.
· Demonstrate ability to work with Interstate Compact personnel and develop a proficiency for understanding interstate compact rules and processes.
· Model pro-social communication with clients when working through barriers and questions around supervision expectations.
Need to have:
· One of the following:
o Two or more years of responsible, paid social service experience providing direct client service.
o A two-year human services certificate.
o Two or more years of college coursework in the behavioral sciences field.
Nice to have:
· Experience:
o Carrying an assigned caseload of clients on probation supervision.
o Interacting with and preparing documents for court related personnel.
· Knowledge of:
o Client database systems like CSTS and ICOTs.
o General office software i.e., Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, etc.
o Interstate and intrastate rules and processes.
· Ability to:
o Establish and maintain good relationships with clients, co-workers, and the public.
o Assess each situation using good judgment.
o Follow instructions verbally and in writing.
o Recognize and respect cultural differences and provide culturally appropriate services.
· Proficient keyboarding/typing skills to enter and process information expediently and accurately.
