The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a Central Records Manager to oversee the Central Records division. This position will also provide oversight and management of the Warrant Unit and staff responsible for processing criminal expungements.Location and hours:This position is located at the Public Safety Facility (PSF), 401 South 4th Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55415 in Downtown Minneapolis. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Based on current requirements hires must live in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.   Current Hennepin County employees who refer a candidate hired into an open competitive position may be eligible for a $500 referral bonus. ·      Provide oversight and management of the Central Records Unit, Warrant Unit, and staff responsible for processing criminal expungements.
·      Provide leadership for supervisors and staff in Investigate Unit complaints/inquires, complete performance evaluations, finalize and approve schedules and supervisor payroll, and oversee hiring process and new employee training.
·      Work in consultation with the Release Unit manager.
·      Ensure data practice compliance with BCA/FBI standards on CJIS (Criminal Justice Information System)/ NCIC (National Crime Information Center).
·      Support as a liaison for business partners such as court administration, judges, DOCCR, EHM (electronic home monitoring), DOC (MN Department of Corrections) and security staff.
·      Oversee investigative staff misconduct and determine level of discipline and deliver results to staff.
·      Oversee investigating errant releases and detentions.
·      Oversee developing and updating standard operating procedures for Central Records.
·      Participate in meet and confer meetings with union as needed.
Need to have:One of the following:
·      Bachelor's degree or higher in business administration or other field appropriate to the position and five or more years of experience related to organizational operations or programs or a specialty area appropriate to the position.
·      Nine or more years of experience related to organizational operations or programs or a specialty area appropriate to the position.
Nice to have:
·      Experience:
o  Managing, supervising, and developing staff.
o  Providing effective supervisory practices and techniques.
o  Handling confidential information.
o  Planning and organizing complex projects
·      Knowledge of:
o  Relevant laws, rules, and procedures.Â
o  Governing confidential record keeping.
o  Computer word processing and spreadsheet and presentation software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
·      Interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
·      Ability to:
o  Maintain confidentiality in compliance with policies and procedures for sharing information.
o  Plan, assign, train and direct work of staff; read and analyze policies and procedures.
o  Prepare a variety of reports and make presentations.Â
